Created a virtualmachine of ubuntu 14.04.1-i386 and started building koha, dspace and drupal. Initially tried koha and after successful configuration of koha started building dspace and drupal. Whole day was spent on trying first koha then testing livecd and then trying dspace and drupal. Hope this version of iso gets built successfully.

Personal Librarian
Came across following post of "Personal Librarian" Found interesting.
In India many of the library professionals are busy in buying only books and journals and carrying out routine works. We really need to go beyond and think and introduce new services to our users.
"Personal Librarian program includes contacting each freshman with a personal librarian letter or postcard. Other efforts over the years have included providing exam snacks or end-of-the-semester cookies, chair massages in the library during exams, “Ask a Librarian” posters that feature students with an ASK sign, mouse pads that encourage students to contact a librarian, digital flyers on large-screen computers around campus, collaborative programming with other events and departments on campus, and ongoing library workshops each semester".

DSpace - 4.1 Learning on Virtual Player
Installed dspace 4.1 on ubuntu 12.04 LTS and trying to see new features.
1. DSpace 4.1 now allow to restrict access to metadata, items, bitstreams to group of people so that it can only show names of the collection but wont show further details. It looks properly in Xmlui but was not proper in jspui.

Drupal feeds import
I had created a sample of 100 records and those were in csv file. Struggled a lot to import this csv into drupal but it could not bring author records. After lot of struggle and editing file in Libreoffice and remapping feeds import could manage to bring all records and now records are visible without any duplicates.
This was not working in earlier libreoffice but with libreoffice 4.2 I could manage to save excel file as proper csv file and then could run feed importer and bring data into drupal which allowed to show records properly in views.

koha migration 3.8 to 3.16 on ubuntu 12.04 LTS version
Koha Migration from 3.8 to 3.16
Recently I tried to migrate koha from 3.8 to 3.16. I tried to upgrade from major versions such as 3.8 to 3.10, 3.12, 3.14 and then to 3.16. When 3.16 was done when web installation ran it threw an error as

and the time and date of the error.

DBD::mysql::db do failed: Table 'koha_library.roadtype' doesn't
exist at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-

The above error was dealing with non availability of 'roadtype' table. I then sent query on koha mailing list and Indranil Das Gupta sent me following answer which helped perfectly and I could complete koha upgrade to 3.16. I was asked to login to mysql and then create table in koha database.

Government Burearocracy
My last several years of experience in government has taught several things to remember.
1. Don't believe on any of your co-workers. They are all going to pass on each and every sentence that you comment against your higher ups. Which will eventually lead to destroying your career.
2. Most of the staff members in government has interest in politics than doing any serious work.
3. Even if you are very honest and honestly doing your job it has no value as such as it is more important to keep your higher ups happy than doing any work.
4. Every small work that you are doing, first ask and then do without doing other way. It will lead to misunderstanding about you and it will be interpreted as "This person is oversmart".
5. Honest, hardworker, sincere people have no value in government but people who "butter" "speak all the time lie" have more say in the organization as they know very well how to play and get things done.
6. You should know how to completely destroy others career which will eventually lead you to call a successful higher authorities.
7. Though your goals, aims are clear if you join in lower grade your career can completely be destroyed.
8. Don't ever try to save government money as it is not the need of the organization. Rather spend money on wrong things even if very good right things with less money is available.

Digital Preservation Software Installation Struggle
Last three weeks was struggling to see how several digital preservation tools work. Tried installing ACE, BagIT, Archivist Toolkit, Xena, Archivematica, Digital Preservation Software Platform, SleuthKit, Checksum Checker, JHOVE, FITS, DROID, Bioscuri, Web Curator Tool, Xarch, EMET etc.
For last two days was struggling with Archivematica. Archivematica works only with Ubuntu 12.04. I tried installing it on virtual machine but struggled with its Archrival Toolkit Upload option configuration. Still trying to see how to configure it. Why work is not important?
I am disappointed looking at general approach at work places. Work is not important but keeping good relations is more important than work.
